The Foshan furniture market is the largest furniture sourcing destination in the world — a district of connected malls, wholesale cities, and factory showrooms in Guangdong province where most categories of project furniture can be seen, sat on, and priced within a few days. For developers, contractors, and FF&E buyers planning a sourcing trip (or deciding whether they need one), this guide explains how the Foshan furniture market is organized, what each zone is for, and how project buyers get real value out of it.
How the Foshan Furniture Market Is Organized
Lecong: The Wholesale Core
Lecong town holds the densest concentration — several kilometres of connected furniture malls covering every category and price tier: living and bedroom furniture, office furniture, hotel FF&E, outdoor, and accessories. Sun Link Sea (顺联) and the surrounding wholesale cities are where most first-time buyers start. The showrooms here are largely factory sales offices; the furniture on display is produced in plants across Shunde, Longjiang, and the wider Pearl River Delta.
Louvre Furniture Mall: The High-End Showcase
The Louvre Furniture Mall (罗浮宫) is Foshan’s premium showcase — international-standard showrooms for high-end Chinese brands and designer collections. For hotel and villa projects chasing a design-led specification, the Louvre mall is the fastest way to calibrate what top-tier Chinese production looks like. Prices displayed are retail-facing; project pricing happens through the factory behind the showroom.
Longjiang and Shunde: Where the Factories Are
Behind the malls, Longjiang and the wider Shunde district hold thousands of production plants — upholstery, panel furniture, metal furniture, and materials markets (foam, fabric, hardware). Serious project orders end up here: the mall showroom is the front door, but specification, sampling, and QC all happen at the factory.
What Project Buyers Should Know Before Visiting
- The mall price is not the project price. Displayed prices are for walk-in single-piece buyers. Container-quantity project pricing is negotiated with the factory, against a written specification.
- A showroom is not a factory audit. A beautiful showroom says nothing about export experience, production capacity, or QC discipline. The plants behind two identical-looking showrooms can be a world apart.
- Two days is enough to see; two days is not enough to buy. A well-planned trip covers Lecong, the Louvre mall, and two or three shortlisted factories. Specification, samples, and orders follow in the weeks after — rushing a deposit during the visit is the classic first-timer mistake.
- Categories cluster. Sofas, beds, and case goods are Foshan’s home turf. Some categories — lighting (Zhongshan), sanitary ware (Chaozhou/Foshan ceramics district), stone — sit in neighbouring specialist clusters that a Foshan-based itinerary can fold in.
Sourcing this for a commercial project?
FBM Sourcing works with project owners, developers, main contractors and FF&E contractors on hotel, apartment, school, office and other commercial building projects. Send us your BOQ, drawings or product list — we’ll come back with a sourcing plan and budget estimate.
Visiting vs Buying Through a Sourcing Agent
Many project buyers combine both: one calibration trip to the Foshan furniture market to fix the specification level, then execution through a locally based furniture sourcing agent who shortlists factories, negotiates project pricing, runs samples, and inspects production. Just as many never visit at all — with a clear drawing set and reference images, a Foshan-based china sourcing agent can walk the markets and factories on the buyer’s behalf, sending photos, prices, and samples for remote approval. That is how most of our programs run in practice, from living room furniture and bedroom furniture packages to full whole home customization programs. Our Poland villa market-purchase case study shows a compressed version: a guided market buying program covering furniture and building materials in one trip. Our Philippines villa furniture case study shows an even more compressed version: a full villa furniture package selected, confirmed and ordered in a single accompanied buying day.
A Practical Two-Day Market Itinerary for Project Buyers
Day 1 — calibration: morning in Lecong’s wholesale malls for the project’s core categories; afternoon at the Louvre Furniture Mall to set the upper specification bound. Photograph, price, and shortlist — do not commit.
Day 2 — verification: visit the factories behind the two or three strongest candidates: production lines, materials in use, packing area, export cartons. This half-day of factory floors tells you more than two full days of showrooms.
Buyers arriving with unit counts, drawings, and a delivery date leave Foshan with a realistic budget and a factory shortlist. Buyers arriving with only a mood board leave with photos and a plan to come back — also useful, but a different trip.
