The pre-engineered steel building manufacturers in China that can be named with evidence are the listed steel structure groups whose own annual reports carry a steel structure revenue line: Hangxiao Steel Structure (Shanghai Stock Exchange 600477), Changjiang & Jinggong Steel Building (Shanghai Stock Exchange 600496) and Anhui Honglu Steel Construction (Shenzhen Stock Exchange 002541). Each plays a different role, from integrated contractor to high-volume component fabricator. For every other steel structure manufacturer in China, what makes a warehouse frame usable at the destination is the evidence that travels with the steel: approved shop drawings, mill certificates, a named fabrication standard and execution class, and a certificate whose scope covers the plant that actually fabricates the order.
This guide is written for developers, general contractors, builders, commercial project owners and interior design and construction companies delivering warehouses, logistics centres, factories and workshops with a steel frame from China. It is not a ranking. Listed companies appear in no particular order, and the rest of the market is described by manufacturer type.
What Is Inside a Pre-Engineered Steel Building Package?
A warehouse bought as a steel package from China is a set of components that have to arrive in the right order and bolt together on site:
- Primary frame: portal frame columns and rafters, usually built-up or rolled H-sections, plus any crane beams, mezzanine beams and canopy frames.
- Secondary steel: roof purlins and wall girts, usually cold-formed C or Z sections, with sag rods and bracing.
- Connections and fixings: end plates, base plates, structural bolts, anchor bolts and the anchor bolt setting-out drawings the civil contractor needs before the frame arrives.
- Envelope: roof and wall cladding, insulated panels, flashings and rooflights. This is a separate trade, covered in our guide to metal roofing sheet manufacturers in China.
“Pre-engineered” describes the delivery: the frame is designed, detailed and fabricated to drawings before anything reaches site, then erected by bolting. In the annual reports checked for this article, the same work appears under wider headings such as steel structure, light steel structure or industrial buildings, which is why the revenue tables matter more than the marketing name. For how a steel structure order runs from drawings to shipment, see our page on steel structures sourcing from China; this article covers who makes the steel and what evidence to ask for.
How Did We Decide Which Companies to Name?
We name a company only when three things could be read in primary sources in September 2026:
- It is currently listed and not under special treatment. Shanghai listings were checked against the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s full company list, Shenzhen listings against the Shenzhen Stock Exchange company profile service. None of the companies named below carries an ST special-treatment prefix.
- Steel structure is a revenue line, not a paragraph. The 2025 annual report, published in April 2026, has to show steel structure work in its revenue table by industry or by product.
- Certifications are quoted only where the annual report states them. Where the report is vague, we say so.
Tonnage figures come from the production and sales volume tables of the same reports. We do not quote revenue or contract amounts, and none of these companies is presented as a supplier of FBM Sourcing.
Listed Chinese Steel Structure Companies With a Verifiable Warehouse and Industrial Role
Hangxiao Steel Structure Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 600477)
Registered in: Xiaoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
What the annual report shows: the 2025 revenue table by product has two steel structure lines, multi-storey and high-rise steel structures, and light steel structures. The report lists large factory buildings among the uses of its steel components and states that the group has more than twenty wholly owned or controlled subsidiaries with production bases across China. It records 929,200 tonnes of steel structure produced in 2025, and its revenue table by region includes a separate overseas line.
Certifications stated in the report: an AISC system, EN 1090, ISO 3834 welding quality management, ISO 9001 and a Singapore SSSS certification, among others.
Role note: a steel structure contractor working through specialist contracting and EPC models. Its light steel structure line is the closest match in its disclosures to warehouse and industrial shed work.
Evidence to request: the certificate for the specific subsidiary plant that will fabricate the order, with its scope, and shop drawings for frame, purlins and connections for approval by the project’s engineer before cutting starts.
Changjiang & Jinggong Steel Building (Group) Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 600496)
Registered in: Lu’an Economic and Technological Development Zone, Anhui province, with its office in Shanghai.
What the annual report shows: steel structure is the main revenue line by industry, and the revenue table by product splits it into industrial buildings and public buildings, with EPC as a separate line. The report defines its industrial products as factory buildings extended to logistics centres, cold storage and warehousing, and waste-to-energy plants. It records 1,720,800 tonnes of steel structure produced in 2025, its revenue table by region includes an overseas line, and it states that its business network reaches more than 50 countries and regions.
Certifications stated in the report: a number of certifications under US, European, Japanese and Russian standards, without naming the schemes. We therefore do not attribute AISC or EN 1090 certification to it here.
Role note: among the companies checked, the one with the most explicit warehouse and logistics wording in its product definitions, moving from specialist subcontracting towards EPC contracting.
Evidence to request: the actual certificates behind “US and European standards”, with issuing body, scope and plant address, and a statement of which subsidiary fabricates the frame and which supplies the envelope.
Anhui Honglu Steel Construction (Group) Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Stock Exchange: 002541)
Registered in: Shuangfeng Industrial Zone, Hefei, Anhui province.
What the annual report shows: the 2025 revenue table by product is entirely steel structure components: H-section structures, box and cruciform columns, tubular structures, trusses and secondary structures. The report describes the company as mainly a steel structure manufacturer, with prefabricated steel building contracting as a secondary business, refers to ten steel structure production bases, and lists industrial factory buildings first among the uses of its products. It records about 5.02 million tonnes produced in 2025.
Certifications stated in the report: AISC, EN 1090-1 and EN 1090-2, ISO 3834, a UKCA certification for building structural steel, and a Malaysian CPA.
Role note: a fabrication specialist, not a design-and-build contractor. Its 2025 revenue table by region reports all revenue as domestic, and the report says its products were exported indirectly to more than thirty countries, covering nearly three hundred overseas projects.
Evidence to request: which production base will fabricate the order and whether it sits inside the certificate scope, plus welding procedure qualification records for the joint types on the shop drawings.
A listed name we checked and did not include
Zhejiang Southeast Space Frame Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Stock Exchange: 002135) describes steel structure buildings and envelope systems, including light steel industrial buildings, in its business overview. Its 2025 revenue table, however, reports that work under a single construction line next to a polyester filament line; steel structure appears only in its production and sales volume table. Under our rule that is not enough to list it here.
Most portal frame and light steel fabricators in China are privately held and publish no audited segment data, so the rest of this guide works by manufacturer type.

What Kinds of Manufacturers Make a Warehouse Steel Package?
- Integrated steel structure groups handle detailing, fabrication and often installation across several plants. The common gap: the group certificate is quoted, but the order is fabricated in a plant the certificate does not name. Evidence to request: the certificate and scope for the named fabricating plant.
- Component fabrication specialists make H-sections, columns, trusses and secondary members to other people’s drawings. The common gap: nobody owns connection design and the anchor bolt layout. Evidence to request: the shop drawing and connection design package, with the responsible party named.
- Portal frame and light steel kit fabricators supply frame, purlins, girts, bracing, bolts and often cladding as one kit. The common gap: the design loads and code are the supplier’s defaults rather than the project’s. Evidence to request: design calculations to the code and loads in the project specification, accepted by the project’s engineer of record.
- Cold-formed purlin and cladding roll-formers make C and Z sections and profiled sheet, often as a subcontractor to the frame fabricator. The common gap: thickness, grade or coating on the delivered coil differs from the design. Evidence to request: mill certificates for the coil used.
Which Standards Should a Warehouse Steel Package Be Specified Against?
The fabrication standard follows the project’s jurisdiction and the engineer’s specification, not the factory’s habit. As of September 2026, the European documents most often written into a steel building order stand as follows on BSI Knowledge:
| Standard | What it covers | BSI status, September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 | Conformity assessment of structural steel and aluminium components and kits placed on the market as construction products | Current, under review |
| BS EN 1090-2:2018+A1:2024 | Technical requirements for the execution of steel structures, including execution classes EXC1 to EXC4 | Current |
| BS EN 1090-4:2018 | Cold-formed structural steel elements and structures for roof, ceiling, floor and wall applications | Current, under review |
BSI lists the earlier BS EN 1090-2:2008+A1:2011 as withdrawn, so an order or certificate that still quotes the 2008 edition of Part 2 should be queried. The execution class is chosen by the project’s designer, not the fabricator. For what CE marking under EN 1090-1 involves for a Chinese fabricator, see our guide to EN 1090 CE marking for structural steel from China; for projects in Great Britain, see UKCA vs CE marking for building materials.
For projects designed to American practice, the design specification is AISC 360, Specification for Structural Steel Buildings. Two of the three companies above state AISC certification in their annual reports, but neither names the category, so read the category and plant address off the certificate itself. Write the applicable AISC 360 edition into the project specification and check that detailing and welding documents refer to the same one.
A certificate proves a system at a plant, not the quality of one order, and a steel grade from one standard is not automatically equivalent to a grade in another. Any substitution belongs in the approved shop drawings, with the engineer’s written acceptance.
What Evidence Should Travel With a Steel Building Order?
- Approved shop drawings and erection drawings, with member marks, bolt lists and anchor bolt setting-out at the approved revision.
- Mill test certificates traceable to heat numbers and cross-referenced to the members they were used in.
- Welding procedure specifications, procedure qualification records and welder qualifications for the standard named in the order.
- Surface treatment records against the coating specification, or galvanizing records where hot-dip galvanizing is specified.
- A declaration of performance and CE or UKCA marking under BS EN 1090-1 where the market requires them.
- Packing lists by erection sequence, so the site team unloads the first bays before the purlins for the last ones.
How Is a Warehouse Steel Frame Shipped From China?
Steel ships by weight, so the container plan is set by the heaviest and longest members. Members that fit go in standard containers; over-length members may need flat-rack or open-top equipment, explained in our guide to shipping oversized items from China. Bolts and small parts are boxed and labelled against the packing list.
Sometimes, on a large project, the steel structure components alone fill full containers; sometimes the steel structure components share containers with the other product categories of the same project; and sometimes, in one batch, we combine a dozen or more product categories from several projects of the same client into a few containers — always full containers, and for us this is routine, well-practised work.
How Does FBM Sourcing Handle a Steel Building Package?
FBM Sourcing works as a sourcing partner for the whole China procurement package on an overseas project, and the steel frame is usually one line of several. On a warehouse or industrial project we:
- take the structural drawings, specification and BOQ, and confirm design code, loads, fabrication standard, execution class and coating specification before any fabricator prices;
- match the scope to the right manufacturer type and check that certificate, welding records and mill certificates match the plant and edition named in the order;
- carry out one inspection by our own team at the factory once bulk production is finished, before shipment, with photo and video records. Your own project team is welcome to attend the inspection with us, and the inspection report goes to you before the balance is paid;
- plan the steel alongside the building’s other scopes. Our guide to warehouse and industrial office procurement from China explains why the steel envelope is normally fixed before the office scope.
All quotations, invoices and shipping documents are issued by FBM Sourcing, and sea freight is quoted to you before shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Chinese steel structure manufacturers are publicly listed?
Among the companies we checked in September 2026, Hangxiao Steel Structure (Shanghai 600477), Changjiang & Jinggong Steel Building (Shanghai 600496) and Anhui Honglu Steel Construction (Shenzhen 002541) are listed, carry no special-treatment prefix and report steel structure revenue lines in their 2025 annual reports; Zhejiang Southeast Space Frame (Shenzhen 002135) is listed but reports that work under a general construction line.
Do Chinese steel structure manufacturers hold EN 1090 or AISC certification?
Some state it in their annual reports: Hangxiao lists an AISC system and EN 1090, Honglu lists AISC, EN 1090-1 and EN 1090-2, and Jinggong refers only to certifications under US, European, Japanese and Russian standards; in every case, ask for the certificate and check that its scope covers the fabricating plant.
Which edition of EN 1090-2 should a steel building order refer to?
As of September 2026, BSI Knowledge lists BS EN 1090-2:2018+A1:2024 as current and the 2008+A1:2011 edition as withdrawn, so a new order should name the current edition and the execution class chosen by the project’s designer.
Can a Chinese fabricator supply the complete warehouse kit, including purlins and cladding?
Kit fabricators and integrated groups often supply frame, purlins, girts, bracing, bolts and cladding together, but cladding carries its own test and fire evidence, so specify and document it as its own line even when one company supplies it.
How is structural steel from China packed and shipped?
It is loaded by weight and member length into full containers, with flat-rack or open-top equipment for oversized members, packed where possible in erection sequence, with a packing list matching the member marks on the erection drawings.
