Street furniture for a municipal or public-realm project is not one product line. Park benches, litter bins, bollards, bike racks, planters, shelters and smart poles come from different kinds of Chinese manufacturer, each with its own materials and evidence. This 2026 guide ranks the manufacturer types a council, developer or contractor should shortlist for each item, names a listed company only where its annual report supports the product, and lists the evidence to request so quotations can be compared on the same basis.
For how public-sector projects run the wider procurement, see our guide to government and public building projects sourcing from China.
How We Define a Strong Street Furniture Source
A strong source makes the exact item in the specified material, can show the fixing detail for the site’s ground condition, and can document the coating or timber treatment it uses. We checked the listed-company registers for street furniture makers and found few whose filings describe benches or bins as a main business, so most entries below are manufacturer types rather than names.
1. Metal Street Furniture Fabricators
Steel and aluminium benches, litter bins, bollards, bike racks and tree grilles are produced by metal fabrication plants with cutting, bending, welding and powder-coating lines. This is the core source type for most municipal schedules.
Evidence to request: material grade and thickness for each part, the coating system and its test report, fixing plates and anchor details, and the weld and edge finish shown on drawings.
2. Timber and Composite Seating Manufacturers
Benches with timber or wood-plastic composite slats need a supplier that controls both the slat material and the metal frame. Hospitality terraces use similar materials; our outdoor furniture manufacturer guide covers that side. Ask for the timber species or composite formulation, and for the legality documents the destination requires for timber.
Evidence to request: species or composite specification, treatment and moisture content, slat fixings, and timber legality documents where applicable.
3. Precast Concrete and Stone Furniture Plants
Concrete benches, planters and bollards are heavy and may be produced closer to site. Where they are sourced from China, the key questions are mix design, reinforcement, surface finish and whether the weight works for shipping and site handling.
Evidence to request: unit weight, reinforcement drawing, surface finish sample, and lifting points.
For the planters that sit alongside benches and bins in public spaces, see our guide to commercial planter manufacturers in China.

Send us the streetscape schedule and drawings. We will split it by production line and compare materials, coatings and fixings line by line.
4. Shelter and Canopy Structure Fabricators
Bus shelters, bike shelters and canopies are small structures. The design, wind and snow loading and foundations are normally set by the project’s engineer, and the fabricator builds to those drawings.
Evidence to request: shop drawings based on the engineer’s design, glazing or panel specification, coating system and assembly sequence.
5. Smart Pole and Street Lighting Manufacturers
Street lighting and multi-function poles often sit in the same streetscape package. Sichuan Huati Lighting Technology (603679, Shanghai) is one listed example: its 2025 annual report describes multi-function smart street lights that combine a lighting pole with functions such as monitoring, information screens and charging. Its filing describes poles and lighting, not benches or bins.
Evidence to request: the pole and luminaire models, the electrical reports for the destination, and the list of devices integrated on the pole.
6. Play and Fitness Equipment Manufacturers
Playgrounds and outdoor fitness areas are a separate specialist line with their own safety standards and inspection regimes. Keep them off the street furniture schedule and quote them separately.
Evidence to request: the standard and edition the equipment is tested to and the report for each quoted model.
What Should You Compare Across Street Furniture Quotations?
| Field | Evidence to compare |
|---|---|
| Material | Grade, thickness and any timber or composite specification |
| Coating | System, thickness and the corrosion requirement for the site |
| Fixing | Surface-mounted, cast-in or free-standing; anchor details |
| Accessibility | Seat height, armrests and back support as set by the design team |
| Packing | Knock-down or assembled; weight and handling |
| Spares | Replacement slats, fixings and coating touch-up |
Why We Do Not Publish a Named Ranking Here
We could not find public filings that show named Chinese companies making benches, bins and bollards as a main business, so a named top list would rest on marketing claims. A project-specific shortlist, built item by item against the same drawings and evidence, is more useful and can be checked.
How FBM Sourcing Builds the Shortlist
FBM Sourcing is a Guangzhou-based China sourcing agent and project procurement service. We split the streetscape schedule into factory-readable groups, send one specification to each suitable production line and compare returned drawings and evidence line by line.
When bulk production is finished and before shipment, our own team carries out one inspection against the approved specification, covering quantities, dimensions, coating, fixings, labels and packing, with photos and video. Clients are welcome to join that inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there listed street furniture manufacturers in China?
We did not find listed companies whose filings describe benches or bins as a main business. Sichuan Huati Lighting Technology (603679) is listed and its filing describes smart street lights and poles.
Can one factory supply benches, bins and shelters?
Sometimes, but shelters are small structures built to an engineer’s design. Confirm that each item is on the factory’s own production list.
What decides the coating specification?
The site’s environment and the project specification. Ask each source for the coating system and its test report, not a general corrosion claim.
Should play equipment be on the same schedule?
No. Play and fitness equipment has its own standards and should be quoted separately.
What should be approved before production?
Shop drawings, material and coating samples, fixing details, accessibility dimensions and packing method.
