A fire door manufacturer in China worth putting on a commercial project is one whose fire-rated doorset has been tested to the standard your destination market recognises, in the configuration you will install, and who can show the test evidence and the label before quoting. Among listed Chinese companies, three report fire-rated doors in their 2025 annual reports: Jiangshan Oupai (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 603208), Wangli Security Technology (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 605268) and Sundart Holdings (Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 01568), the last majority-owned by Jangho Group (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 601886). None reports fire doors as a separate revenue line; most export fire-door work is done by unlisted steel and timber doorset factories.
This list is written for developers, general contractors, builders, commercial project owners, interior design and construction companies and FF&E solution providers who carry a fire-rated door line on a hotel, office, school, healthcare, retail or multifamily schedule. It stays on fire-rated doors; the wider door market is in our commercial door manufacturers in China list, and non-rated interior doors in the interior wood door manufacturers list.
What Counts as a Fire-Rated Door on a Commercial Schedule?
Every fire door standard we work with tests an assembly, not a leaf. The rating belongs to the combination of leaf, frame, seals, glazing, hinges, closer and latch that went into the furnace together; change one component and the tested configuration no longer exists. The unit on a schedule is therefore the doorset, and the question to a factory is “which doorset configurations have you had tested, to which standard, and does the report cover the size, swing, glazing and hardware on my schedule”.
Three construction types dominate Chinese export production:
- Steel fire-rated doorsets: galvanised steel skins over a fire-resistant core in a steel frame; the main product of the security-door factories, used at plant rooms, stairs and car parks.
- Timber fire-rated doorsets: a fire-resistant core with veneer, laminate or paint finish, intumescent seals, in a timber or steel frame; used where the door faces a guest, patient, student or tenant.
- Glazed fire-rated steel doors and screens: steel profiles with fire-resistant glass, used at lobbies, atria and corridor separations where vision through the barrier is required.
How Were the Manufacturers on This List Chosen?
We name a Chinese company only if we verified, on 22 September 2026, that it is currently listed on the Shanghai, Shenzhen or Hong Kong exchange under the code shown, carries no risk-warning prefix, and that its 2025 annual report, read in the original, mentions fire doors and reports doors as a product line. We record where fire doors appear in each report, because a company with its own fire-door revenue line is a different proposition from one that mentions fire doors inside a channel description or a subsidiary’s scope. We do not state that any company holds any certification or listing, we do not link to any company, we do not score, and the order is by exchange code. Unlisted factories are described as types.
None of the three reports names the American, Australian, British or European fire door standards, and none exports fire doorsets as a primary line, so their ability to serve an overseas fire-rated door line has to be proven doorset by doorset, as with any unlisted factory.
Which Listed Chinese Companies Report Fire-Rated Doors?
Jiangshan Oupai Door Industry (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 603208)
Jiangshan Oupai Door Industry Co., Ltd. is classified in its 2025 annual report under wood processing, with wood doors as its core product. Its reported product lines are moulded plywood doors, solid-wood composite doors, cabinet products, other products and franchise service fees; fire doors have no line of their own. They appear in the description of the direct engineering channel, where the company serves large property developers and decoration contractors and is extending into business hotels, healthcare and schools, selling wood doors as the core product with fire doors, entry doors and cabinets as complementary items. The report also refers to the company’s steel fire doors and to research on fire doors. Production bases are at Jiangshan in Zhejiang, Lankao in Henan and Yongchuan in Chongqing; the export channel is described as supply-only, or supply-plus-service under direct agreements with overseas clients.
Role in a fire-rated door package: a project-channel wood door group that can add steel fire doorsets to a large wood-door order. Evidence to request: the fire test report for the specific doorset configuration, the standard and edition it was tested to, the label sample, and confirmation that the export order matches the tested specimen.
Wangli Security Technology (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 605268)
Wangli Security Technology Co., Ltd. reports three product lines: steel doors, other doors and smart locks. Fire doors have no separate line; they appear in the business scope of three manufacturing subsidiaries named in the 2025 report: Zhejiang Wangli Door Industry (security doors, fire doors, interior doors, locks and windows), Sichuan Wangli Security Products (security doors, fire doors and security locks) and Sichuan Wangli Special Protection Door Industry (security doors and fire doors). The same report states that the company took part in drafting national standards including GB 12955-2024 Fire doors and GB 17565-2022 on security doors. Volumes are reported in door units, steel security doors dominate, and 2025 revenue is overwhelmingly domestic.
Role in a fire-rated door package: a steel-door manufacturer whose fire doorsets sit beside high-volume steel security doors, relevant where a project wants steel fire doorsets and apartment entry doors from one source. Evidence to request: test reports to the export standard, not only the Chinese one; the frame and hardware list that was in the furnace; and the export packing specification.
Sundart Holdings (Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 01568), majority-owned by Jangho Group (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 601886)
Sundart Holdings Limited is a Main Board company in Hong Kong. Its 2025 annual report describes a plant and warehouse at Dongguan in Guangdong of more than 40,000 square metres gross floor area, operated through its subsidiary Dongguan Sundart, which manufactures interior decorative timber products including fire-rated timber doors and wooden furniture and pre-fabricates components for the group’s own interior contracting projects. The group reports a segment called “Manufacturing, sourcing and distribution of interior decorative materials” separately from its interior works segments; fire doors are not broken out within it. Jangho Group’s 2025 annual report states that it holds 59.38 per cent of Sundart through a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Role in a fire-rated door package: a timber fire-door manufacturer embedded in a hotel and commercial interior contractor, so its doors are usually produced to a project’s own door schedule rather than as a catalogue item. Evidence to request: the test standard used for the timber doorset (Hong Kong and overseas projects will not share one), the intumescent seal and glazing specification, and the finish build-up that was tested.
Which fire-rated doorset configurations can a Chinese factory prove for you?
Send the door schedule with the destination standard and the required ratings. FBM Sourcing matches each fire-rated door number to a factory whose test evidence covers that configuration and returns one quotation for the door line.
Which Unlisted Manufacturer Types Supply Export Fire-Rated Doorsets?
Most export fire-rated doorsets come from factories that are not listed and cannot be verified against a public filing. We describe them by type.
Steel fire-rated doorset factories
Specialists producing steel leaves and frames with fire-resistant cores, often alongside security and industrial doors; the stronger ones have had assemblies tested for more than one export market. Evidence to request: the full test report with drawings of the tested specimen, the tested size range, the hardware list, and a sample label.
Timber fire-rated doorset factories
Producers of veneered, laminated and painted fire-rated leaves for hotel, apartment, education and healthcare projects, usually supplying frame, seals and hardware preparation as a set; their evidence often covers a family of finishes over one core. Evidence to request: the test report and the finish build-up it covers, and the seal and glazing specification for any vision panel.
Glazed fire-rated steel door and screen fabricators
Fabricators of steel-framed fire-rated doors and screens with fire-resistant glass, where glass type, bead and seal are part of the tested assembly. Evidence to request: the test report for the door-and-screen combination and the maximum pane dimensions it covers.
Fire door hardware suppliers
Closers, hinges, latches, panic devices and seals are usually bought by the door factory, and the rating depends on them. Evidence to request: the hardware items’ own test or listing documents for the destination market, matched against the door factory’s report; see our note on preparing a door hardware schedule before a China quotation.
Which Standard Governs a Fire-Rated Door in Each Destination Market?
A doorset is fire-rated only against a named standard, set by where the building stands, not where the door is made.
| Destination market | Standard that governs the doorset | Evidence to request from the factory | Specialist article |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | UL 10C, Positive Pressure Fire Tests of Door Assemblies, for the test; NFPA 80, Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives, for installation and maintenance | Listing documentation for the assembly and the listing mark on leaf and frame | — |
| Australia | AS 1905.1:2015, Components for the protection of openings in fire-resistant walls, Part 1: Fire-resistant doorsets | The fire-resistance test report and the doorset tag, with the tested configuration matching the schedule | Fire-rated doorsets from China for Australian projects |
| United Kingdom | BS 476-22:1987 or BS EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018 for fire-resistance testing of door assemblies; both remain in the BSI catalogue | The test report or assessment naming the standard and the tested specimen | Follow the building’s fire strategy and the specification’s named standard |
| European Union | EN 16034, the European product standard for pedestrian doorsets, industrial, commercial and garage doors with fire-resisting and/or smoke-control characteristics | The classification report and the declaration of performance for the doorset, with the notified body reference | Follow the project’s fire engineer |
| Gulf states | Civil defence approval or listing of the product in the destination country, on top of the test standard the authority accepts | The approval or listing document naming product and manufacturer, with its validity date | Gulf fire and life safety product approvals for China-sourced hotel projects |
| China (for reference) | GB 12955-2024, Fire doors, the mandatory national standard, effective 1 May 2026, replacing GB 12955-2008 | The Chinese certificate is evidence of domestic compliance only and does not transfer to any export market | Not applicable |
A Chinese fire door certificate shows a factory knows how to build a fire door; it does not make that door acceptable in Sydney, Houston, Dubai or Manchester, and a report to one export standard does not transfer to another. The only useful question is “certified to which standard, for which configuration, and can we see the document”.
What Should the Door Schedule Say Before a Fire Door Factory Quotes?
A vague fire door schedule produces a wrong product, not merely a lower-specified one. For each door number it should carry:
- The destination standard and the required rating for that opening, as stated by the project’s fire engineer.
- Whether the opening needs fire resistance only, or fire and smoke control, since these are different tests and different seals.
- Construction: steel or timber leaf, frame material, single or double leaf, swing, and any vision panel with its size.
- Structural opening size and the wall type the frame will be fixed into.
- Hardware: closer, hinges, latch, panic device and seals, and who supplies each.
- Finish and the public-facing side, because finish build-up is part of the tested specimen on timber doorsets.
- Labelling: what mark must be on leaf and frame, and whether it must stay visible after finishing.
With these fields filled, a factory can say for each door whether it has a matching tested configuration, and quotations can be compared on the same basis.
How Do Fire-Rated Doors Ship with the Rest of the Project?
Fire-rated doorsets ship as complete units, packed so the label stays legible and the edges and seals are protected, and on a hotel or multifamily package they usually travel with the non-rated interior doors and hardware from the same project. Sometimes, on a large project, the fire-rated doors alone fill full containers; sometimes the fire-rated doors share containers with the other product categories of the same project; and sometimes, in one batch, we combine a dozen or more product categories from several projects of the same client into a few containers — always full containers, and for us this is routine, well-practised work.
Where FBM Sourcing fits: as the sourcing partner on the China side, we take the fire-rated door line from the schedule, place it with a factory whose test evidence matches the configuration, obtain samples for approval, and carry out one inspection by our own team at the factory after bulk production is finished, before shipment, with photo and video records, including a check that labels and shipped configuration match the approved test report. All quotations, invoices and shipping documents are issued by FBM Sourcing, and sea freight is quoted to you before shipment.
Which fire-rated doorset configurations can a Chinese factory prove for you?
Send the door schedule with the destination standard and the required ratings. FBM Sourcing matches each fire-rated door number to a factory whose test evidence covers that configuration and returns one quotation for the door line.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Chinese listed companies make fire-rated doors?
Three listed companies report fire-rated doors in their 2025 annual reports: Jiangshan Oupai (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 603208), Wangli Security Technology (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 605268) and Sundart Holdings (Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 01568), which is majority-owned by Jangho Group (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 601886). None reports fire doors as a separate revenue line.
Can a Chinese fire door certified to GB 12955 be used on an overseas project?
No. GB 12955-2024 is the mandatory Chinese national standard for fire doors and its certificate shows domestic compliance only. An overseas project needs a doorset tested to the standard its own code names, such as UL 10C, AS 1905.1, BS 476-22, BS EN 1634-1 or EN 16034, plus any local approval such as civil defence listing in the Gulf.
Is a fire-rated door the same as a fire-rated doorset?
No. The fire test is run on an assembly of leaf, frame, seals, glazing and hardware, and the rating belongs to that assembly. A leaf bought alone, or fitted with different hinges, closer or glass from the ones in the test, is not a rated doorset under the American, Australian, British or European standards.
Do steel and timber fire-rated doors come from the same factories in China?
Usually not. Steel fire doorsets are typically made by security-door and steel-door factories, while timber fire doorsets come from wood-door and joinery factories. Of the listed companies above, Wangli Security is a steel-door business, Sundart’s Dongguan plant makes timber fire doors, and Jiangshan Oupai is a wood-door group that also refers to steel fire doors.
What should be checked on the fire doors before they ship from China?
That the labels on leaf and frame are present, legible and match the approved test report; that the hardware fitted or prepared is the hardware named in the report; that seals and vision panels match the tested specification; and that packing protects edges and labels. FBM Sourcing checks these points in one inspection by our own team at the factory after bulk production is finished, before shipment, with photo and video records.
