Blog,Product Selection Guide

The top aluminum window and door manufacturers in China for UK and European projects are six supplier types rather than one ranked list: export window and door fabricators, aluminum-clad timber window makers, curtain wall contractors, aluminum extruders, hardware manufacturers and safety glass processors. Four types have an exchange-listed Chinese example whose role can be checked from public filings; the rest are private. What puts any of them on a UK or European shortlist is evidence: EN 14351-1 test reports and a declaration of performance behind the CE or UKCA marking, Approved Document L thermal values, PAS 24 security reports for new dwellings, and safety glazing classified to BS EN 12600.

This guide is written for developers, general contractors, builders, commercial project owners, interior design and construction companies and FF&E solution providers delivering residential, student accommodation, hotel, office and mixed-use buildings in the UK and the European Union. It shows which manufacturer type fits which part of the package, and what each should produce before prices are compared.

Which Chinese Window and Door Companies Can a UK or European Buyer Verify from Public Filings?

Most Chinese aluminum window and door factories are privately held, with no exchange filing behind their capacity or project claims. We name only companies whose listing we have checked, by their actual role in the supply chain. None is ranked, and we make no claim about which of them ships to the UK or the EU.

  • Harbin Sayyas Windows Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Stock Exchange, ChiNext, 301227). A complete-window manufacturer whose core business is energy-efficient aluminum-clad timber windows; it listed in September 2022. Role: finished windows.
  • Jangho Group Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Stock Exchange, 601886). Formerly Beijing Jangho Curtain Wall, a curtain wall contractor that designs, manufactures and installs facades for offices, hotels, airports and commercial complexes. Role: the facade package, not standard windows.
  • Xingfa Aluminium Holdings Limited (Hong Kong Stock Exchange, 0098). A Foshan-headquartered extruder of construction and industrial aluminum profiles, including window, door and curtain wall profile systems. Role: the profile a fabricator turns into tested windows.
  • Guangdong KinLong Hardware Products Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Stock Exchange, 002791). A Dongguan-based building hardware manufacturer supplying door, window and curtain wall hardware. Role: the hardware inside the window or doorset.

These four sit at four different levels of the supply chain, so their quotations cannot be compared line against line: only one of them sells a finished, tested window. The wider list of Chinese producers is in top aluminum window and door manufacturers in China.

What a UK or EU Project Will Ask Every Window and Door Supplier to Show

  • EN 14351-1 and the declaration of performance. Windows and external pedestrian doorsets are covered by the harmonised standard EN 14351-1:2006+A2:2016, cited under the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011. The manufacturer of the finished window draws up a declaration of performance for characteristics such as air permeability, watertightness, wind load resistance and thermal transmittance, backed by test reports for the product type, and affixes the CE marking on that basis.
  • The EU’s new Construction Products Regulation. Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 applies from 8 January 2026 and repeals Regulation (EU) No 305/2011, with some old provisions continuing until 8 January 2040. Harmonised standards cited under the old Regulation and in force on 8 January 2026 remain valid until withdrawn or repealed, so EN 14351-1 declarations continue until a replacement standard is cited.
  • CE and UKCA marking in Great Britain. On 2 September 2024 the UK government confirmed that CE marking will continue to be recognised for construction products in Great Britain; UKCA marking remains a valid alternative and requires a UK approved body. Northern Ireland follows separate guidance. See UKCA vs CE marking for China-made products on UK projects.
  • Approved Document L in England. Under the 2021 edition incorporating 2023 amendments, windows and doors in new dwellings have a limiting U-value of 1.6 W/(m²·K); in buildings other than dwellings, windows, curtain walling and pedestrian doors are also limited to 1.6 and high-usage entrance doors to 3.0. A 2026 edition takes effect on 24 March 2027 for most building work.
  • Approved Document Q for new dwellings. In England, since 1 October 2015, doorsets and easily accessible windows in new dwellings should be of a design tested to PAS 24 or a listed alternative. Easily accessible includes ground floor and basement openings and those within 2 m vertically of an accessible surface such as an access balcony. The guidance cites PAS 24:2012; BSI’s current edition is PAS 24:2022+A1:2024.
  • Safety glazing. Approved Document K defines critical locations in doors, side panels and low-level glazing. Glazing there should achieve Class 3 of BS EN 12600, and Class 2 in a door or door side panel with a pane width over 900 mm. Toughened glass is made to BS EN 12150 and laminated glass to BS EN 14449.
  • Combustible materials in external walls. In England, regulation 7(2) of the Building Regulations 2010 requires external wall materials on relevant buildings (a storey at least 18 m above ground, containing dwellings, an institution or residential rooms) to achieve A2-s1, d0 or A1. Window frames and glass, and doors and door frames, are exempt under regulation 7(3); spandrel and infill panels are not.
  • EU anti-dumping measures on aluminum extrusions. Definitive anti-dumping duties on aluminium extrusions from China were imposed by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/546. An expiry review opened on 27 March 2026, and the measures remain in force while it runs. The product definition covers unassembled bars, rods, profiles, tubes and pipes, including profiles cut, drilled or bent for use in structures, so the classification of cut profiles and frame kits should be settled before ordering.

Window and Door Makers for UK and European Projects

1. Export aluminum window and door fabricators (private)

  • Who they are: factories that cut, machine, crimp, glaze and assemble thermally broken aluminum windows and doors, usually on profile systems bought from an extruder. Many work near the extruders in Guangdong’s Foshan area; others operate in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
  • Key products: casement and tilt-and-turn windows, sliding and lift-and-slide doors, folding doors, entrance doorsets, fixed lights and window walls.
  • Best fit: residential, build-to-rent, student accommodation and hotel projects with repeat units and a performance-based specification.
  • Evidence to request: EN 14351-1 reports for the same profile system, opening type and size range; the declaration of performance and draft CE or UKCA label; U-value calculations for the scheduled sizes; PAS 24 reports for the exact configuration and hardware where the project contains new dwellings; and safety glass certificates.

2. Aluminum-clad timber and high-performance window makers (listed example: Harbin Sayyas Windows)

  • Who they are: manufacturers of timber windows with external aluminum cladding and of high-insulation systems for low-energy buildings. Harbin Sayyas Windows (SZSE 301227) is the listed example; the others are private.
  • Key products: aluminum-clad timber casement and tilt-and-turn windows, entrance doors and glazed screens.
  • Best fit: projects with thermal targets well below the Approved Document L limits, or a specification calling for a timber interior face with a low-maintenance exterior.
  • Evidence to request: EN 14351-1 reports and a declaration of performance in the manufacturer’s own name, timber species and moisture records, U-value calculations for the scheduled sizes, and the cladding finish specification.

Facade, Profile, Hardware and Glass Suppliers Behind the Package

3. Curtain wall and facade contractors (listed example: Jangho Group)

  • Who they are: design-and-build facade companies that engineer, manufacture and usually install unitised and stick curtain wall. Jangho Group (SSE 601886) is the listed example.
  • Key products: unitised and stick curtain wall, window wall, integrated vents, spandrel panels and entrance systems.
  • Best fit: office towers, hotels and high-rise residential buildings where the facade is one engineered package; on a relevant building in England the spandrel and infill panels need A2-s1, d0 or A1 while frames and glass are exempt.
  • Evidence to request: curtain wall test reports for the offered system, reaction-to-fire classification reports for spandrel and infill panels, structural calculations for the project’s wind loads, and a clear scope of inclusions.

4. Aluminum extruders and profile system producers (listed example: Xingfa Aluminium)

  • Who they are: plants that extrude, anodise or powder coat and thermally break aluminum profiles. Xingfa Aluminium Holdings (HKEX 0098) is the listed example.
  • Key products: window, door and curtain wall profiles and complete profile systems.
  • Best fit: fabricators and facade contractors, or project teams fixing one profile system across several fabricating factories. A profile carries no EN 14351-1 declaration of its own, and unassembled profile shipments to the EU sit inside the anti-dumping product definition.
  • Evidence to request: alloy and temper certificates, coating thickness records, thermal break specifications, and the fabricators holding EN 14351-1 reports on that system.

5. Door and window hardware manufacturers (listed example: KinLong Hardware)

  • Who they are: producers of handles, hinges, multipoint locks, friction stays, rollers and curtain wall fittings. Guangdong KinLong Hardware Products (SZSE 002791) is the listed example.
  • Key products: window and door hardware sets, sliding and folding door gear, and entrance door hardware.
  • Best fit: the hardware line of any package. A PAS 24 report covers a window or doorset tested with specific hardware, so changing the lock or handle changes what the report covers. See top door and window hardware manufacturers in China.
  • Evidence to request: the hardware specification used in the window’s PAS 24 and EN 14351-1 reports, cycle and corrosion test data, and finish specifications for coastal sites.

6. Safety and insulating glass processors

  • Who they are: plants that toughen, laminate, coat and assemble insulating glass units, usually supplying window fabricators and facade contractors rather than the project directly. Most are private.
  • Key products: toughened, laminated and low-emissivity coated glass, and double or triple insulating glass units.
  • Best fit: every package, because the glass drives both the U-value and the safety glazing class. See glass safety standards for curtain wall and windows from China.
  • Evidence to request: BS EN 12150 or BS EN 14449 documentation for each glass type, BS EN 12600 impact classification reports, and the coating and spacer specification behind the U-value.

How UK and European Window Packages Are Loaded and Shipped

A window and door package is rarely one factory: windows from a fabricator, entrance doorsets from a second plant, glass from a processor and hardware from a hardware maker. The loading plan follows the site’s installation sequence, not the factories’ production order, and each rack carries its window schedule reference, floor and elevation.

Sometimes, on a large project, the windows and doors alone fill full containers; sometimes the windows and doors share containers with the other product categories of the same project; and sometimes, in one batch, we combine a dozen or more product categories from several projects of the same client into a few containers — always full containers, and for us this is routine, well-practised work. Tall glazed units are packed on A-frame racks with edge protection, agreed before production because rack design sets how many units each container holds.

Where FBM Sourcing Fits on a UK or European Window Package

FBM Sourcing works as the China-side sourcing partner for companies delivering UK and European projects. We match each line of the window and door schedule to the manufacturer type that produces it, collect the EN 14351-1, PAS 24, U-value and safety glazing evidence before orders are placed, and run sampling against the drawings. Inspection is carried out by our own team at the factory before shipment, with photo and video records, and several factories’ output is consolidated into full containers in the order the site needs. Wider UK procurement is covered in how UK developers and contractors source building materials from China.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do aluminum windows from China need CE or UKCA marking for a UK project?

Windows and external pedestrian doorsets under EN 14351-1 need a construction product marking, and Great Britain accepts either: the UK government confirmed on 2 September 2024 that CE marking remains recognised for construction products, and UKCA remains valid. Either marking must rest on a declaration of performance and type test reports in the manufacturer’s name.

What does the EU’s new Construction Products Regulation change for windows?

Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 applies from 8 January 2026 and repeals Regulation (EU) No 305/2011, with some old provisions running until 8 January 2040. Harmonised standards in force on 8 January 2026, including EN 14351-1:2006+A2:2016, stay valid until withdrawn, so window declarations continue until a new standard is cited.

Which U-value do new windows need in England?

Under Approved Document L, 2021 edition incorporating 2023 amendments, the limiting U-value is 1.6 W/(m²·K) for windows and doors in new dwellings and for windows, curtain walling and pedestrian doors in other buildings. Replacement windows in existing dwellings are limited to 1.4 or Window Energy Rating Band B. The 2026 edition takes effect on 24 March 2027 for most work.

Is PAS 24 needed for windows and doors in UK apartment buildings?

For new dwellings in England, Approved Document Q expects doorsets and easily accessible windows to be of a design tested to PAS 24 or a listed alternative, including openings within 2 m vertically of an access balcony. Because the report covers the tested configuration, the hardware and glazing supplied should match it.

Do EU anti-dumping duties apply to aluminum windows from China?

The EU measures imposed by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/546, under expiry review since 27 March 2026, cover unassembled aluminium extrusions, including profiles prepared for use in structures. Whether cut profiles, frame kits or curtain wall components fall inside that definition is a customs classification question the importer should settle before ordering.
