Parking wheel stop and speed hump manufacturers in China include makers of moulded rubber products, producers of recycled plastic and composite units, makers of precast concrete wheel stops, steel and cast fabricators, and traffic safety suppliers that bundle corner guards, mirrors, bollards and line marking materials with the same quotation. In a hotel car park, a mixed-use block or a logistics site these items are cheap per piece, repeated hundreds of times and fixed in ways that decide whether they stay put. Each route supplies a different material and fixing arrangement under the same name.
This guide sorts the supply side into five sourcing routes so a procurement team can send one brief to the right makers and compare the answers fairly. It is not a ranking. No factory is named or scored here, and no claim is made about the strength, impact behaviour or code status of any unit. The traffic designer, the project specification and the local authority define those requirements, and each maker must show evidence for the exact model it offers. For related site items, see our guides to bollard manufacturers and manhole cover and drainage grating manufacturers.
What should a wheel stop and speed hump brief state?
A brief that says only “speed humps, rubber, 200 pieces” produces quotations that cannot be compared, because the module, the fixing and the surface are left open. State at least the following, copied from the car park drawing and the traffic note.
- Item code and quantity: each wheel stop, hump module and end cap type from the schedule with the quantity per level or zone, so items are priced against locations and not against a total.
- Dimensions: length, width and height of each module in millimetres as the drawing shows them, with the tolerance the project accepts.
- Material: rubber, recycled plastic, concrete or steel as the specification states, and the colour as a code with a sample.
- Visibility: reflective sheeting, inserts or paint the drawing requires, and who supplies them.
- Fixing: bolts, anchors or adhesive, the substrate they go into and the hole pattern the drawing shows, listed item by item.
- Surface: asphalt, concrete or painted slab, because the fixing and the product are chosen against it.
- Layout: the plan with the position of each unit, the spacing and the interface with drainage covers and line marking.
- Standards the project names: the dimension or test requirement the authority names, with its standard and edition, set by the designer and the authority and not by the maker.
- Packing: how modules are stacked, strapped and marked by zone, and which fixings ship separately.
Five sourcing routes for wheel stops and speed humps
1. Moulded rubber product makers
Rubber makers mould wheel stops, humps and corner guards in several profiles and colours. Ask for the drawing, the material description, the hole pattern, the reflective insert description and a finished sample, and confirm how the colour is controlled across batches. This route suits indoor car parks where an elastic unit is wanted.
2. Recycled plastic and composite makers
These makers press or extrude units from recycled plastic or composites. Ask for the drawing, the material description, the weight per unit, the colour system and a finished sample, and ask how the product behaves in sun and cold as stated in the maker’s own documents for the exact model.
3. Precast concrete wheel stop producers
Concrete producers cast wheel stops with embedded steel or with drilled holes. Ask for the drawing, the reinforcement description, the lifting and handling method and a finished sample. Heavy goods have a freight consequence, so ask how units are loaded and marked, and compare the freight with the lighter materials before choosing.
4. Steel and cast metal fabricators
Fabricators make steel or cast iron humps and stops, usually for industrial sites. Ask for the drawing, the material and coating description, the fixing arrangement and a finished sample, and agree who supplies the coating and the fixings for the destination climate. See our guide to metalwork manufacturers for related fabricators.
5. Traffic safety package suppliers
Some suppliers quote wheel stops, humps, mirrors, bollards and guards together. This puts one party in charge of the package and one delivery, but ask the supplier to price each item on its own line and to name the maker of each, so that evidence can be checked item by item.

How to compare wheel stop and speed hump quotations
- Dimensions: length, width and height stated on each line, in millimetres, with the module the drawing shows.
- Material and colour: material, colour code and any reflective element named on each line.
- Included parts: fixings, end caps, reflective inserts and templates listed with quantities, or stated as excluded.
- Units of measure: price per piece, per metre of hump or per set, and how the quantity was derived from the plan.
- Weight: weight per unit and per carton, because it drives handling and freight.
- Evidence: which test or dimension documents are offered for the exact model, with the date and the body that issued them.
- Exclusions and substitutions: any change of material, profile, colour or fixing the maker proposes.
A quotation that is cheaper on one line may be thinner on another. Read the descriptions side by side before reading the totals.
Fixing, substrate and the parts that come off first
Units in a car park are kicked, driven over and cleaned with machines, and the item that fails first is usually the fixing. Ask each maker to state in writing which fixings the quotation includes, which substrate they were chosen for, and whether the units can be re-fixed after a bolt is replaced. Agree who supplies drilling templates and who checks the hole pattern against the first installed unit.
Settle spare parts in the brief: how many spare units and fixings the order includes, how they are identified, and how long the model remains available for repeat orders. A car park is often finished in stages, and a repeat order of the same model has to match the first in size and colour.
Samples, approval and acceptance on delivery
Approve a finished sample of each module with its fixings and colour before bulk production, and record the approval in writing against the item code. Place the sample on a section of the real surface if possible so that profile, colour and visibility are seen together. Keep the approved sample as the reference for the bulk order.
On delivery, check a sample of cartons or pallets against the order: item code, dimensions, colour, fixings and quantity per zone. Note any difference in writing on the day with photographs. Before shipment our own team checks quantities, finish, fixings and packing against the signed-off specification, and you receive a QC report with photos and video.
Specification gaps to close before quotation
A quotation cannot answer the questions below for itself. Check that the brief answers these questions before it goes out.
- Which dimensions and tolerance does the drawing give for each module?
- Which material and colour code, and which sample is the reference?
- Which surface are units fixed into, and which fixings does the quotation include?
- Which reflective elements are required, and who supplies them?
- Which dimension or test requirement does the authority name, in which standard and edition?
- How are pallets and cartons marked by zone, and how many spares are included?
Next steps for a car park package
Send each maker the same brief and ask for answers in writing, line by line, with samples or documents before bulk production. FBM Sourcing manages China procurement packages for overseas projects; furniture-only packages are also run through FBM Furniture.
Questions buyers ask about wheel stops and speed humps from China
Can two wheel stop quotations be compared by unit price alone?
No. A unit price says nothing about the material, the weight, the fixings or the reflective elements. Compare the dimensions, material, included parts and weight on each line before comparing totals.
Who decides the dimensions of a speed hump?
The traffic designer and the local authority decide. Write the dimensions and the standard they come from into the brief and ask each maker to show evidence for the exact model.
Should fixings come from the same maker as the units?
They can, which keeps the units and the fixings matched, but keep each item on its own line and say which substrate the fixings were chosen for.
Do we need a sample before ordering?
Yes. Approve a finished sample of each module with its fixings and colour, and keep it as the reference for the bulk order.
How does FBM Sourcing support this kind of package?
We review the brief, collect comparable quotations and manage the package for the project. For suppliers you nominate, we charge a 5% commission; for products we source for you, we quote a direct price. Our own team performs one inspection after bulk production is complete and before shipment, and the client’s project team is welcome to attend.
