Project Background
A restaurant group operating multiple locations in Dubai engaged FBM Sourcing to supply the furniture package for its outdoor terraces and indoor lounge areas. Dining in Dubai happens outdoors for much of the year, so the terrace furniture had to survive intense sun, heat and daily commercial use — which pointed the specification toward WPC (wood-plastic composite) slats on powder-coated steel frames rather than natural timber. For the lounge areas the client selected reclining leather sofas and marble-top coffee tables to give guests a comfortable waiting and shisha seating zone.
As the client’s building material and furniture sourcing agent in China, FBM Sourcing matched each product line to a specialist factory, managed sampling and production, inspected every piece before packing and consolidated the full order into one container for Jebel Ali port.

How It Works?
Understanding Client Needs
The client’s brief covered two different environments: outdoor terraces exposed to Gulf sun and sand, and air-conditioned lounge areas where comfort and a premium look mattered most. We translated the brief into specifications — UV-stable WPC slats and marine-grade powder coating for the terrace sets, commercial-grade recliner mechanisms and thick bonded leather for the lounge sofas, and natural marble tops with hardwood bases for the coffee tables — with quantities per restaurant location and one delivery window.
Market Sourcing and Factory Selection
No single factory makes all of these products well. We placed the outdoor sets with a Foshan factory specialising in WPC furniture extrusion and steel fabrication, the recliner sofas with an upholstery factory running dedicated recliner-mechanism lines, and the marble coffee tables with a casegoods workshop experienced in stone-top furniture. Each factory quoted factory-direct pricing against the written specification, and samples were approved before any deposit was released.

Order Confirmation and Production Scheduling
Purchase orders locked in the details that cause disputes later: slat profile and colour of the WPC boards, frame tube wall thickness, coating standard, recliner mechanism cycle rating, leather grade, marble slab matching, carton specifications and production lead times. Payment followed our standard structure — deposit on order, balance only after inspection.
Production Follow-Up and Quality Checks
During production our QC team worked through every line item. On the outdoor sets: slat alignment and fastener seating on every table top, frame squareness, coating coverage on cut edges, and assembly tests on chairs pulled from different production batches. On the lounge sofas: recliner mechanisms cycled and checked seat by seat, stitching and leather surface reviewed panel by panel. On the coffee tables: marble tops checked for cracks, veining match and edge polish. Defective pieces were repaired or replaced before anything was allowed into a carton.
Container Loading and Shipping
Every item was wrapped — bubble wrap on frames, corner protection on marble, foam on leather — and boxed in export cartons. The consolidated order loaded into one container under our supervision at the Foshan warehouse, packed floor to door to use every cubic metre, then moved to port for the sailing to Jebel Ali, Dubai.
After-Sales Support
After arrival we stayed on call while the client’s team unpacked and installed across the restaurant locations, confirming carton counts against the packing list and closing out the order only when every location had what it needed. Hardware for the flat-packed outdoor tables shipped inside each carton with assembly instructions.
Project Completion Photos
The restaurant group received terrace and lounge furniture that matched the approved samples — outdoor sets built for the Gulf climate and lounge seating that gives guests a reason to stay longer. One specification list, three specialist factories, one inspection standard and one consolidated container: that is how a multi-location restaurant fit-out gets furnished from China without the owner flying over once.
