Sheet thickness runs 0.8–1.2 mm for cladding and trims, 1.2–1.5 mm for counter tops, and up to 3 mm for structural brackets and frames. Finish is specified by number, not adjective: No. 4 brushed (the hospitality standard), No. 8 mirror for feature work, bead-blast for fingerprint-critical areas, and PVD coating for bronze, champagne, gunmetal and black tones — a vacuum-deposited layer measured in fractions of a micron that must be applied over a consistent base polish to read evenly across a wall of panels.
How Does Stainless Steel Fabrication Sourcing from China Work?
The scope is drawing-led. Seam position matters more in stainless than in any painted metal, because a welded-and-polished joint is invisible while a mechanical joint never is — so the shop drawings decide where the eye will land before the sheet is cut.
A finish sample plate in the specified grade, grain and coating is signed off before the run, since brushed grains and PVD tones vary between polishing lines. Production for a typical interior package runs 25–40 days from approved drawings. Everything ships film-protected, foam-interleaved and crated in plywood cases labelled by room and elevation; stainless scopes are compact and almost always travel as part of a consolidated project container rather than alone.
