How It Works?

Understanding Client Needs

This case covers a contract furniture package for a restaurant chain in Iran, sourced through FBM Sourcing as the client’s furniture sourcing agent in Foshan. Rather than ordering from a single factory catalogue, the operator needed lounge and booth-style sofas, dining and occasional seating, and a set of dining and coffee tables finished with natural marble tops — each category best suited to a different specialist workshop rather than one general furniture supplier. The furniture also had to withstand daily commercial F&B use across several outlets, so batch-to-batch consistency was a priority from the start.

Market Sourcing and Factory Selection

The client traveled to Foshan to select styles and materials in person before production began. We accompanied the buying trip across the furniture wholesale market and short-listed factories, helping confirm frame construction, upholstery grade, and marble slab selection against the operator’s budget and commercial specification before any deposit was placed.

Order Confirmation and Production Scheduling

Styles, frame construction, upholstery grades, and marble slab selections were confirmed in person during the buying trip before any deposit was placed. Orders were then issued to each specialist workshop — upholstered seating, dining chairs, wood-frame tables, and marble fabrication — against one coordinated production timeline, so all categories would be ready for inspection and consolidation within the same window.

Production Follow-Up and Quality Checks

As a china sourcing agent for this order, our role was to shortlist qualified factories for each furniture category, confirm frame and upholstery samples on site during the client’s buying trip, and inspect completed production before packing. Sofas and armchairs were checked for frame stability, cushion fill consistency, and upholstery seam quality against contract-grade expectations for restaurant seating. Dining and occasional chairs were inspected across multiple colorways to confirm consistent frame finish and cushion construction between batches — important where the same chair model is repeated across several outlets.

Marble-top tables required an additional coordination step: table bases and marble tops were produced and finished separately, then matched and quality-checked together before packing to confirm slab thickness, edge polish, and fit against each base — including a round table finished in a 135 cm diameter marble top and rectangular tables finished in 160 x 90 cm marble slabs.

Container Loading and Shipping

Once every category cleared inspection, the full furniture package was consolidated into two 40-foot high-cube containers for export. Upholstered sofas and armchairs were wrapped and boxed separately from the wood-frame and marble-top tables, with table tops packed flat in reinforced wooden crates to protect the marble surface and edges during the sea transit from South China to Iran.

After-Sales Support

After shipment, FBM Sourcing remained the client’s single point of contact for the order. If any item arrived with a transit or quality issue, our team handled the claim directly with the factory concerned — arranging replacement parts or corrective action on the factory’s account — so the client never had to negotiate with a Chinese supplier from overseas. This after-sales accountability is part of every procurement engagement we run.

Project Completion Photos

The completed order shipped as two 40-foot high-cube containers covering lounge and booth sofas, armchairs, dining and occasional chairs across several colorways, and a matched set of wood-frame tables finished with natural marble tops in both round and rectangular formats. Working with one accountable sourcing agent across multiple specialist factories allowed the operator to select styles and materials in person in Foshan, while quality control and export packing were managed as a single coordinated process rather than several independent factory shipments — giving a consistent furniture fit-out across the restaurant chain’s outlets.
