Project Background
A public primary school in Florida completed a comprehensive building renovation requiring five categories of custom building materials sourced from China. The scope included UL-rated steel fire doors, thermally broken aluminum window systems, custom school storage cabinets, durable bathroom partition systems, and decorative mirrors — all coordinated across multiple Chinese factories under a single procurement contract. FBM Sourcing managed the entire process from factory selection and QC to consolidation and on-time delivery.

How It Works?
Understanding Client Needs
The client provided detailed architectural specifications for each product category. Steel fire doors required specific fire-resistance ratings and US code-compliant hardware sets. Aluminum window profiles had to satisfy Florida Building Code requirements for wind resistance. Storage cabinets were custom-sized to classroom dimensions with specific laminate finishes. Bathroom partition panels required phenolic-grade board with stainless steel hardware. We translated every specification into factory-ready production documents and flagged compliance issues before any orders were placed.
Market Sourcing and Factory Selection
We sourced factories across multiple manufacturing hubs: aluminum window and door systems from certified profile extruders in Guangdong; fire-rated steel doors from US export-experienced manufacturers in Jiangsu; school storage cabinets from panel furniture factories in Guangdong; toilet partition systems from specialist partition makers; mirrors from verified glass processing factories. Each supplier was pre-qualified through our standard audit covering certifications, production capacity, and export track record before receiving purchase orders.
Order Confirmation and Production Scheduling
Before full production runs began, we arranged sampling for all critical items. Steel door leaf dimensions were measured and finish quality verified on sample units. Aluminum profile cross-sections were checked against client spec drawings. Cabinet panel thickness, edge banding adhesion, and drawer hardware were validated. Consolidated proforma invoices covering all five product categories were issued. Staggered production schedules were then agreed with each factory to ensure readiness within a unified shipping window.
Production Follow-Up and Quality Checks
Our inspection team visited each factory at key production milestones. For steel fire doors: every door leaf was measured against client drawings, fire-rating labels were verified, surface coating uniformity was checked, and hardware operation was tested. For aluminum windows: profile dimensions, glass specification compliance, and frame assembly quality were validated. For storage cabinets: panel thickness, edge banding, and hinge and drawer hardware were inspected. For bathroom partitions: panel flatness and bracket alignment were checked. Detailed photo reports were submitted to the client after each factory inspection visit.
Container Loading and Shipping
Products from five factories were consolidated for coordinated shipping. Loading plans were designed to protect fragile items: mirror packs were foam-wrapped with protective separators; aluminum window frames were secured in custom wooden crates; steel doors were loaded upright in purpose-built door racks to prevent surface damage in transit. All items were labeled with the client project reference for easy identification at the job site. Three containers were loaded, photographed, and sealed with complete manifests ready for US customs clearance.
After-Sales Support
After delivery to the Florida job site, our team remained available to resolve any post-delivery queries. Minor replacement hardware items — hinges, handles, partition brackets — were sourced and shipped from our China operations within days. Technical documentation including fire door certification sheets and aluminum profile specification reports were provided for the building inspector. Any installation discrepancies were addressed within 48 hours through our dedicated after-sales coordinator.
Project Completion Photos
All building materials were delivered ahead of the contractor installation schedule. The fire-rated steel doors and code-compliant aluminum window systems passed building inspector review on first submission. Bathroom partition systems and custom storage cabinets were installed without modification. The school renovation was completed on schedule, and the primary school opened for the new academic year with fully upgraded facilities. The client has since engaged FBM Sourcing for building materials procurement on additional school renovation projects.
